About the Instructor
Rev. Dr. LoraKim Joyner is a wildlife veterinarian, Unitarian Universalist minister, and NonViolent Communication certified trainer. She combines these experiences along with over 32 years as a conservationist and wildlife veterinarian to lead One Earth Conservation’s teams that empower the people saving the planet.
With Co-director Gail Koelln, they have developed the Nurture Nature Program that is founded on LoraKim’s conviction that every being has inherent worth and dignity.
She travels extensively supporting individuals, groups, and organizations to build communities of resilience, resistance, and solidarity. Her work in Latin America portrays her deep commitment to all within the biotic community, especially those whose voices are silenced. With them, she bears witness to the beauty and plight of the parrots and people there, celebrating what they can do together. One Earth's projects occur in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, and Guyana, with upcoming project exploration in French Guiana and Suriname
